Charming Shoppes announces exec changes

BENSALEM, Pa. Charming Shoppes announced the appointment of Visa Vei as president - Asia, overseeing the company's multi-country sourcing operations, the promotion of Stephen Yeung, VP aourcing - Asia, to VP and COO - Asia, and the promotion of Carrie Klein, SVP, to SVP and general merchandise manager of sportswear and intimate apparel of Lane Bryant.

Vei brings more than 25 years of merchandising and management experience in international sourcing to Charming Shoppes. She served at the Gap International Sourcing division in Hong Kong from 1988 through 2007 in merchandising management positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in her appointment as senior director of merchandise operations and vendor management in 2004.

Yeung joined Charming Shoppes' international sourcing division in 1996 as director of finance with additional responsibilities for shipping, information technology and administration. In 2001, he was promoted to VP sourcing - Asia for the company's sourcing headquarters in Hong Kong, as well as its branch offices throughout Asia.

Klein has served as SVP and general merchandise manager of Lane Bryant's Cacique Intimate Apparel division since 2003. She has assumed additional leadership responsibilities for Lane Bryant's sportswear division, following MaryEllen MacDowell's previously announced appointment as president of the company's Outlets division.
