Cato announces new NYSE ticker symbol

10/9/2009

Charlotte, N.C. The Cato Corp. announced it will change its ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange from "CTR" to "CATO," effective at the start of trading on Oct. 16.

The change of the ticker symbol is a process managed by the New York Stock Exchange such that trading of the stock is unaffected.

"Our merchandise carries the Cato label and changing our ticker symbol to CATO further strengthens our brand," said John Cato, chairman, president and CEO. "The new symbol also helps shareholders better identify our stock and our company."
