Just in time to kick-off the 2016 NFL season, the Carolina Panthers are giving fans another reason to cheer.
The defending NFC champions upgraded the Carolina Panthers Official Shop, the team’s official online store — a move that promises “to provide Panthers fans worldwide with an exceptional online shopping expe-rience,” according to a company statement.
As more fans transition to mobile commerce, it has become increasingly difficult to manage the intricacies of the team’s e-commerce infrastructure. Growing demand among this omnichannel fan base made it evident that the team needed a modern, more flexible digital platform.
Delaware North Sportservice, the team’s official food, beverage and retail provider, worked BigCommerce to adopt a new commerce architecture, as well as rebuild the team’s online store. Besides developing a custom site, the partners designed a more responsive experience, faster page load times and streamlined checkout processes. The cloud-based architecture also handles high volume transactions during peak traffic periods, such as playoffs and the holiday shopping season.
“[Our partner] worked with us to expand and enhance mobile shopping for team products, making it easier for fans to browse the latest team gear from anywhere, and from any device at anytime,” said Tom Crocker, Delaware North Sportservice general manager at Bank of America Stadium.
The site is live, and ready for fans to purchase merchandise just in time for the team’s regular season opener tonight against the Denver Broncos.
