Canadian Tire Launches Smart Store Concept
Toronto Two Canadian Tire locations are debuting the retailer’s new Smart Store format.
Smart Store, the company’s label for its next wave in a concept-renewal project, is designed to improve store-level productivity and inspire the shopping experience for Canadian Tire shoppers, said the company.
Besides signage enhancements and circulation adjustments, the Smart Store format features improved category adjacencies and boutique-style space devoted to automotive, sporting goods and tools.
"The Smart store is the result of more than a year of design and merchandising planning," said Mike Arnett, president, Canadian Tire Retail. "We also made significant enhancements to our assortment [through the boutiques] so that we could allocate more space to higher-performing products and new product lines."
Green aspects of the concept include state-of-the-art heating and cooling systems, T8 lighting, daylight-harvesting systems, and motion sensors to control lighting.
