A company named after the first reptile to develop the feather for flight is opening freestanding stores.
Arc’teryx Equipment, a Canadian manufacturer and retailer of high-performance outdoor apparel and equipment, will open a store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood this July. It will follow that up with a store in Chicago’s Buckhead neighborhood in August, and one at Toronto’s Yorkdale Mall in October, giving it a total of 11 locations.
Arc’teryx currently operates stores in Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Portland, Ore., Washington, D.C., Boston (pictured), Vancouver and Montreal.
“We have a very loyal customer base built around amazing product experiences and brand stores offer us an opportunity to support that experience by building personal relationships with our most dedicated brand advocates,” said Adam Ketcheson, VP marketing and B2C, Arc’teryx.
The company, based in North Vancouver, sells jackets, fleeces, shells and parkas, along with climbing, hiking and running gear, skiing and snowboarding apparel.
In addition to its own freestanding stores, Arc'teryx products are sold at more than 3,000 stores worldwide.
