Canadian chain to sell Linens ’n Things-branded goods

10/8/2009

West Orange, N.J. Linens ’n Things branded merchandise is headed back to store shelves for the first time since the retailer was forced to shut its doors last year, the owners of its brand said on Thursday.

In a new licensing deal, Home Outfitters, a division of Hudson's Bay Co., will sell a special line of Linens ’n Things branded goods at its 69 stores in Canada beginning next spring. The deal extends through 2016.

The agreement, which includes a range of bed and bath, home decor and seasonal products, extends through 2016 and is projected to generate in excess of $100 million in retail sales over the term.

Linens ’n Things’ home goods line will premier in all 69 Home Outfitters locations beginning in spring 2010.

Linens ’n Things went out of business last year after it failed to find a buyer in bankruptcy. But at a bankruptcy auction in January, Gordon Brothers Brands and Hilco Consumer Capital won the rights to Linens 'n Things’ intellectual property.
