A privately developed retail and residential project by Rochester, N.Y.-based Wilmorite will open at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Located on about 60 acres in the northeast corner of RIT’s campus, Park Point at RIT will include about 80,000 sq. ft. of retail, as well as more than 300 apartments, several restaurants and bars. The development will feature two mixed-use buildings, two freestanding retail properties and will be anchored by a two-story Barnes & Noble Academic Superstore. Joining Barnes & Noble will be a fitness center, apparel retail, a cellular store, salon and convenience store, along with expected college hangouts such as a sports bar, pizza parlor and bistro coffee lounge.
Park Point at RIT is expected to open in fall 2008.
