Campbell to head Staples legal group

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.

Staples today announced the promotion of Kristin Campbell to senior vp, general counsel. Campbell, who previously served as senior vp, deputy general counsel, will be responsible for the strategic management of the company's legal group. Campbell reports to Ron Sargent, Staples' chairman and ceo.

Campbell, a 13-year Staples veteran, has served in a variety of leadership roles within Staples' legal group. Since 2005 she served as deputy general counsel, managing the legal team in its support of business and functional groups throughout the company. She has also been responsible for Staples' international legal matters in Europe, Asia and South America. Prior to joining Staples, Campbell worked at the law firm Goodwin Proctor in Boston.
