California home furnishings chain names CEO

Jerome’s Furniture has a new chief executive.



The San Diego-based company named Brian Woods as its CEO, effective Sept. 7.



Prior to joining Jerome’s, Woods served as president and chief merchandising officer of Haynes Furniture, where he turned the company from years of sales declines to significant top line growth and profitability improvements. Prior to that, he served as executive VP of sales for American Signature Furniture.



Woods started his career in 1992 with CompUSA in a technical services role and ultimately rose to the role of executive VP and general merchandising and marketing in 2003.



“Throughout his entire career, Brian has worked to enhance the customers' shopping experience, has been successful in highly competitive retail markets and has created brand differentiators that customers have embraced,” said Jerry Navarra, chairman of Jerome’s Furniture, which operates 13 stores.



“He is a visionary team leader who has a talent for inspiring staff at all levels to achieve aggressive goals. We’re excited to have him aboard.”
