Cabela's to open first New England store

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. Cabela's announced today that it will open its first New England store in East Hartford, Conn. on Oct. 19.

The 185,000-square-foot, large-format destination store is located near Interstates 91 and 84 at the intersection of Robert Street and Silver Lane at the historic Rentschler Field in East Hartford.

"We are thrilled that East Hartford will be Cabela's first Connecticut location," said Dennis Highby, Cabela's president and ceo. "New Englanders are passionate about the great outdoors, and our stores serve as a tribute to conservation and wildlife. It's a terrific combination."
