Cabela's makes executive changes

SIDNEY, Neb. Cabela’s Thursday announced that it has made organizational changes designed to better align the company’s business units with its multi-channel strategy.

Taking full advantage of Cabelas powerful multi-channel business model requires the steady and experienced leadership of a knowledgeable and well-trained group of executives, said Dennis Highby, president and ceo of Cabelas. These changes will best leverage the extensive experience and knowledge of Cabelas management team as we plan for the future. 

Michael Callahan, currently senior vp of retail operations, will assume the new title of senior vp of business development and international operations. He will be responsible for Cabelas Canadian operations, mergers and acquisitions and industry and government relations.

Callahan has been with Cabelas for nearly 18 years, serving in a number of capacities, and has 32 years of experience in the sporting goods industry. As senior vp of retail operations, Callahan oversaw the expansion of Cabelas retail footprint from nine to 26 stores, with retail sales growing from $400 million to approximately $1 billion.

Brian Linneman, currently vp and coo, has been named senior vp of global supply chain and operations. Linneman will add merchandise planning, inventory control, the companys outdoors adventures unit, and customer relations to his current duties, bringing Cabelas supply chain under his leadership.

Linneman has been with Cabelas since 1999, starting with the company as corporate logistics manager. Before coming to Cabelas, Linneman served in a management capacity during his 12-year tenure with United Parcel Service.

 

Pat Snyder, currently senior vp of merchandising and marketing, will take on the additional responsibility of retail operations. As senior vp of merchandising, marketing and retail operations, he will guide the growth of Cabelas retail division, further integrating the companys retail and direct business channels.ales growing from $400 million to approximately $1 billion.

Snyder began his career with Cabelas in 1981, rising through the ranks of the merchandising department to his current position of senior vp. While serving in various management positions within the company, he has been instrumental in growing Cabelas from a small catalog company into a $2 billion multi-channel business.
