A busy month for Mac Naughton

8/25/2011

Suppliers to Walmart will have plenty of opportunities to hear from Walmart EVP merchandising Duncan Mac Naughton in the months ahead.

First up is Walmart’s annual meeting for financial analysts held each fall and slated for Oct. 11 to 12 this year. An agenda isn’t yet available, but Mac Naughton presumably will be a featured participant, or at least he should be considering Walmart’s ongoing efforts to revive U.S. sales and recent moves Mac Naughton has made to the structure and leadership of the merchandising organization.

Shortly after the analysts’ meeting, Mac Naughton is a featured participant in the Henkel Global Leadership Conference presented by Champions for Kids on Oct. 26 to 27. This will be the second year for the conference and Mac Naughton is slated to speak on the topic of “Presenting the Scorecard Challenge.” Also scheduled to speak is Sam’s Club CFO Ann Bordelon on the topic of, “It’s All About Your Numbers.”

A few weeks later on Nov. 2, Mac Naughton will be back in front of an audience predominantly comprised of Walmart suppliers when he participates in the annual Sam M. Walton College of Business Center for Retailing Excellence Emerging Trends in Retail conference. The format for the session in which Mac Naughton is participating is unique in that he plans to moderate a discussion with senior members of the merchandising team he oversees. The other notable Walmart executive on the CRE program is international division president and CEO Doug McMillon.
