Burger King sells 20 stores to franchisee
Miami Burger King Corp.’s Canadian division has sold 20 Ontario, Canada-based locations to Heartland Food Corp., the quick-service chain’s third-largest Burger King franchisee.
While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the franchisee’s sale comes on the heels of its recent purchase of 14 other Burger King restaurants. The sale brings Heartland’s total Canadian portfolio to 34 locations.
“Heartland Food Corp. will continue to penetrate the Canadian market by developing new restaurants in the upcoming years,” said Chuck Fallon, president, North America, Burger King Corp.
The 34 new locations bring the Heartland’s network up to 257 Burger King restaurants, 223 of which are located in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.
