Burberry executive to be Children’s Place CFO

The Children's Place has announced the appointment of Anurup Pruthi as senior vice president and chief financial officer effective Dec. 1.


"I have worked with Anurup for many years. He brings a wealth of relevant industry expertise and I am very pleased to welcome him to the Children's Place," said Michael Scarpa, chief operating officer. "Anurup's extensive financial and operational background will add significant value to the execution of our strategic initiatives." Jane Elfers, president and CEO, added: "Anurup's appointment represents an important next step in our transformation."


Pruthi, 46, has over 23 years of financial expertise. He previously served as CFO at Reliance Industries in Mumbai, India. Prior to that Pruthi served as CEO of the Future Group business consulting and services company; CFO at Burberry PLC; and in many executive positions at Liz Claiborne Inc.


The Children's Place is the largest children's specialty apparel retailer in North America.
