The Buckle taps new EVP of stores

The Buckle has promoted Kari G. Smith to the newly created position of EVP of stores. In her new role, Smith will continue to provide leadership related to all aspects of the in-store shopping experience, including the education and development of the company’s sales team.



Smith has been employed by Buckle since May 1978, when she started as a part-time salesperson. She has served in several roles of increasing responsibility since that time, helping to build and develop the sales team, according to the company. She has served in her current position as VP of sales since May 2001.



Headquartered in Kearney, Neb., Buckle currently operates 449 retail stores in 43 states.
