Buckle 3Q Profit Up 26%

Kearney, Neb., Buckle Inc. said Wednesday fiscal third-quarter profit jumped 26%, missing Wall Street expectations.

For the period ended Nov. 3, the company reported income of $22.2 million, compared with $17.7 million in the year-ago period.

Total sales rose 17% to $167.6 million from $143.1 million in the third quarter of 2006. Same-stores sales rose 14.3% in the period.
