Brooks Brothers appoints new marketing chief

8/12/2013

NEW YORK — Brooks Brothers has named Vivien Kronengold as the company’s EVP and chief marketing officer, a newly created position.

Kronengold will be responsible for leading the company’s global marketing strategy and will oversee all areas of marketing communications, including brand advertising, creative, digital and social media, direct, visual merchandising, public relations and events.

Her appointment comes less than a week after president and chief operating officer Diane Ellis accepted the role of CEO at the Limited.

“We are very happy to have Vivien join our team,” said chairman and CEO Claudio Del Vecchio. “She brings a wealth of experience as well as an understanding of Brooks Brothers’ unique heritage and the opportunities ahead as we celebrate our 195th anniversary.”

Kronengold was most recently chief marketing officer at C Wonder. Prior to that she held senior marketing positions at Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Ralph Lauren. Kronengold also has extensive agency experience having worked for BBDO New York.

Kronengold will report to Del Vecchio from the company’s headquarters in New York City.

Del Vecchio also announced additional changes within the organization, which will, he said, enhance the current corporate structure and align operational areas for continued global expansion.

Mauro Calderan was named chief operating officer, overseeing Brooks Brothers’ global supply chain including sourcing and production, logistics and distribution, and global inventory management. Calderon previously served as SVP, distribution and logistics.

Matteo Del Vecchio, formally VP of strategy and business development, has been named chief administrative officer overseeing finance, legal, people services, IT, corporate development, and corporate analytics.

Sahal Laher has recently joined Brooks Brothers as the company’s chief information officer. Laher previously held the same position at Stride Rite Corporation.
