Borders.com adds customer ratings to site

AUSTIN, Texas Borders has added Bazaarvoice's Ratings & Reviews service to Borders.com. Shopper can visit www.borders.com to read opinions on the products they intend to purchase and share their impressions on everything Borders has to offer. Over the next few months, ratings and reviews will also be available to shoppers in stores as the retailer makes the new Borders.com accessible on existing computer kiosks in its superstores nationwide.

When you walk through a Borders store, you quickly realize that customer conversations are an essential part of the shopping experience, said Kevin Ertell, senior vp of e-business for Borders Group. Our goal with the new Borders.com is to bring the bookstore experience to life online, and Bazaarvoice plays a key role by allowing us to infuse the voices of our customers and our staff throughout the site via customer, staff and expert reviews. Bazaarvoice was the clear choice for Borders.com based on their best-in-class services and products, and we are very excited about working together to ensure that Borders shoppers are able to make informed purchasing decisions. 

Borders is promoting the new ratings and reviews functionality through a new www.borders.com/ratings splash page that provides tips on writing a stand-out review alongside a featured review from one of their most helpful reviewers. The www.borders.com/ratings URL is printed on all packing slips to encourage shoppers to take full advantage of this new functionality.
