Borders receives another bid

11/5/2007

According to reports, private equity firm Pacific Equity Partners has lodged a final offer for the Australian and New Zealand businesses of bookseller Borders Group in a deal expected to be worth about $84.4 million.

Meanwhile, privately owned Australian bookseller Dymocks has withdrawn from the sale, after submitting an indicative bid in September, the competition regulator said.

"We were advised that Dymocks has withdrawn from the Borders bid process and therefore it has withdrawn its request (for a competition review)," a spokesman for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has said.
