Borders Debuts Audiobook Downloads
Ann Arbor, Mich. Bookseller Borders.com has launched a service to provide audiobooks for download, with more than 5,000 titles available in a format that is compatible with all MP3 players, including iPods. A total of 15,000 titles are available for download through the retailer’s online catalog and additional titles are being added weekly.
To kickoff the new service, Borders is offering free downloads of Jon Krakauer's "Into the Wild" in MP3 format, from Tuesday through Saturday. Additionally, Borders’ new-concept stores include “Digital Centers” where shoppers can download the audiobooks.
