Books-A-Million opens first northeast location

Birmingham, Ala. Books-A-Million said Tuesday it has opened its first northeastern location in Cherry Hill, N.J., at Cherry Hill Mall.

Cherry Hill Mall is owned and operated by Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust.

The new Books-A-Million store at Cherry Hill Mall will serve nearly 2 million people in the surrounding trade areas of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Philadelphia counties.

The company operates more than 200 stores in 22 states and the District of Columbia, under two formats -- large superstores operating under the names Books-A-Million and Books & Co., and traditional bookstores operating under the name Bookland.
