Bon-Ton to operate own jewelry units

York, Pa. Bon-Ton Stores announced it will take control of its fine-jewelry departments in 86 of its stores.

Finlay Fine Jewelry Corp. had been operating the company's jewelry departments, and Bon-Ton said that former Finlay associates will be offered jobs in these new stores.

"We believe internally operating and building this destination business will provide increased sales and profits, as well as drive traffic into our stores," CEO Bud Bergren said in a statement.
