Bon-Ton consolidates distribution centers

YORK, Pa. Bon-Ton is consolidating the merchandise processing functions at its 175,000 square foot distribution center located in Green Bay, Wis. into its other distribution centers located in Whitehall, Pa.; Fairborn, Ohio and Rockford, Ill.

The company said the consolidation of the operations will be effective this May and be reported to the appropriate state and local officials to the extent required by the WARN Act. The consolidation will impact approximately 27 associates. The affected associates will be provided an opportunity to consider available opportunities to transfer to nearby stores or receive career transition benefits, including severance according to established practices, and state employment service support. The costs associated with the consolidation of the distribution operations will not be material.

The remaining distribution centers have the capacity to support the stores in this geographic area as well as to expand their services to support future growth.
