Bon-Ton Consolidates DCs

York, Pa. Bon-Ton is consolidating the merchandise processing functions at its 175,000-sq.-ft. distribution center located in Green Bay, Wis., into its other distribution centers in Whitehall, Pa.; Fairborn, Ohio, and Rockford, Ill.

The company said the consolidation of the operations will be effective this May.

The consolidation will impact approximately 27 associates. The affected associates will be provided an opportunity to consider available opportunities to transfer to nearby stores or receive career transition benefits, including severance according to established practices, and state employment service support.

“The company continually reviews the efficiency of its operations and, as a result, we decided to consolidate our distribution functions,” said Bud Bergren, president and CEO. “The remaining distribution centers have the capacity to support the stores in this geographic area as well as to expand their services to support future growth.”
