There are a limited number of retail apps a customer will use, and an app that is siloed has no chance of being one of them.
Cognizant of the need to ensure a shopping app is part of a larger, streamlined omnichannel environment, specialty online fashion retailer Bluefly is releasing a new app built on the Mozu commerce platform. With nearly 42% of its sales coming from mobile, Bluefly is offering several features designed to put the customer in the center of the shopping experience.
These include checkout by using the mobile phone camera to scan and sync credit card information, a curated Bluefly Instagram feed inside the app, and push notifications that provide real-time updates about new products, sales, and promotions. Through Mozu's completely integrated content management system across desktop and mobile app, Bluefly customers will see new products, changes to existing products, discounts and promotions instantly across the app.
"Following our site redesign in April, we continue to invest in technology innovations that cater to today's shoppers,” said Carly Rosenberg, president at Bluefly. “The digital landscape has quickly shifted to mobile and we felt it was important to offer our customers a seamless shopping experience through a new mobile app. We want to provide our customers with an app that refreshes its content on the fly. Through our mobile app, our customers will always see the best, most current styles and promotions with a mobile-friendly shopping experience."
