Bloomberg: Walgreens revising Rite Aid deal to gain FTC signoff
Walgreens Boots Alliance is reportedly tweaking its previously announced deal with Rite Aid Corp.
In June, shortly after its deal to buy Rite Aid collapsed amid regulatory concerns, Walgreens announced a new agreement whereby it would buy more than 2,000 stores from its rival. According to a report by Bloomberg,Walgreens is currently in the final stage of negotiations with the Federal Trade Commission about the plan and is set to propose a modified deal that would resolve outstanding antitrust concerns and gain approval by the agency.
The FTC is reportedly close to ending its review process for the deal and could either make a decision or request more information before concluding its review.
