Blockbuster steps up OnDemand service with Samsung
NEW YORK As Netflix and Amazon.com continue to grow their customer base, Blockbuster needs to find new ways to compete. The retailer announced that it has partnered with Samsung to enable consumers to view movies and video from its OnDemand service on their Samsung televisions and electronic devices.
According to reports, under the agreement, Samsung will integrate Blockbuster's OnDemand service into new Samsung HD TVs, Home Theater Systems and Blu-Ray players. Certain 2009 products will also be able to access the OnDemand service through a service upgrade. Videos will cost between $2 and $4 each.
Under the agreement, certain Samsung products will be available at Blockbuster stores.
