1/15/2008

NATICK, Mass. BJ's Wholesale Club today announced that Laura Sen has been named president and coo and elected to the company's board of directors.

Sen, a 15-year BJ's veteran will be responsible for all day-to-day operations at the company. She will continue to work closely with Herb Zarkin, chairman and ceo of BJ's.

Laura Sen has been an important part of BJs success through most of its history, and she has broad experience that will be tremendously important to its future, said Zarkin. I look forward to working with Laura as she assumes additional responsibilities through an orderly transition of leadership. She is surrounded by an outstanding team with a proven record of success.

Sen joined BJs in 1989 and served as evp of merchandising and logistics from 1997 to 2003. She returned to the company in January 2007.

Succeeding Sen as evp of merchandising and logistics will be Christina Neppl, who will head the restructured merchandising division. Bruce Graham, senior vice president, general merchandising manager of consumables, will assume additional responsibilities as general merchandising manager of perishables, and Mark Titlebaum will become senior vp, general manager of general merchandise, a position that has been vacant. Robert Eddy, senior vpof finance, will assume responsibility for the financial departments formerly managed by Neppl.
