BJ's foundation donates 70 grants to nonprofits

BJ's Charitable Foundation has donated 70 grants totaling $431,000 to several nonprofit organizations whose goals are to help improve the lives of local residents in the areas surrounding BJ's Wholesale Clubs.



The funds will go toward healthcare, education, hunger prevention and self-sufficiency.



"We take pride in being able to give back through our foundation," said Jessica Newman, executive director for the BJ's Charitable Organization. "It's an important part of our company's culture to support local non-profit organizations with programs that touch so many people in the communities we serve."



Since its inception in 2005, the BJ's Charitable Foundation has donated nearly $19 million to more than 2,100 community organizations. All recipients are 501(c) 3 charitable organizations that support services in the regions where BJ's Wholesale Clubs are located.
