Best Buy Selling Refurbished iPhones
Ridgefield, Minn. Best Buy is selling “refreshed” Apple iPhones at 350 Best Buy Mobile locations nationwide. The program, which went into effect Tuesday, will expand to all U.S. Best Buy stores that offer AT&T by the end of January.
The chain is charging $149 for the 8-gigabyte model of the iPhone 3G and $249 for the 16-gigabyte version. New products of each model typically cost $199 and $299, respectively.
The phones are in like-new operating condition, according to Best Buy, having been returned during a 30-day trial period refurbished to manufacturing quality grade.
Best Buy is requiring that buyers agree to a two-year contract with AT&T. The company plans to make the used phones available at all stores offering AT&T service by the end of the month.
