Best Buy promotes CE recycling
MINNEAPOLIS Best Buy Co. announced that it has given away nearly $70,000 in consumer electronics recycling grants to help 60 organizations in 23 states host their own recycling events. The company reported receiving more than 500 applications in the first two months of the program, which is part of Best Buy's commitment to help consumers nationwide make safe, responsible decisions when disposing of old and unwanted consumer electronics.
"Consumers are increasingly seeking ways to responsibly dispose of old or obsolete electronics," said Paula Prahl, vp of public affairs for Best Buy. "As we continue to host our own events, we are proud to also support local programs through this grant program to extend those options for consumers across the U.S. and help ensure these items are properly recycled."
