Best Buy to open nine new stores in Q1

Minneapolis Best Buy Co. said Wednesday it is set to open eight stores in the fiscal first quarter, out of about 65 it plans to open during the entire fiscal year. The stores are set to open in April and May.

The retailer will open three locations in California, and one in Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina and Tennessee.

As of May 30, Best Buy expects to operate 1,031 U.S. Best Buy stores in 49 states and in Puerto Rico, among other operations.
