Best Buy names mid-Atlantic regional head
MINNEAPOLIS Best Buy Co. has announced the promotion of Bill Thompson from territory customer experience director to vp and territory general manager. In his new role, Thompson, will oversee more than 100 U.S. Best Buy retail locations across the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. He is filling the position vacated by Neil McPhail, who was recently promoted to senior vp of growth operations. Thompson will report to Tim McGeehan, evp of retail sales.
Thompson has more than 25 years of consumer electronics retail experience, spending the last 14 years at Best Buy. During his tenure with Best Buy, he has advanced through the retail organization with increasing responsibilities, including roles as regional human resources manager, regional marketing manager, and district manager. Thompson was most recently a territory customer experience director, overseeing retail employee training activities and seasonal promotion campaigns for Best Buy retail locations in the southwest region of the U.S.
