Best Buy founder to join CE hall of fame

ARLINGTON, Va. Best Buy founder Richard Schulze has been nominated to the Consumer Electronics Association's CE Hall of Fame. Schulze is among the 2007 inductees who will be honored at the CEA Industry Forum on Oct. 14.

Since its inception in 1966, Schulze has played an integral role in developing Best Buy into a leader in the consumer electronics industry. Schulze currently serves as chairman of the board of the company, having relinquished his responsibilities as ceo in June 2002. He is on the board of the University of St. Thomas, chairman of its executive and institutional advancement committee, and a member of its board affairs committee. He is also chairman of the board of the University of St. Thomas Business School. 

According to the CEA, the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame inductees have made a significant contribution to the world of consumer electronics and to day-to-day life.
