2/11/2015

Scott Kessler has been named chief information officer at Belk less than a year after joining the regional department store operator as its top omnichannel executive.

Kessler, who will report to John R. Belk, president and chief operating officer, has served as Belk’s senior vice president of omnichannel solutions delivery since March of 2014.

Prior to that role, Scott has more than 20 years of IT experience, nearly 10 years of which was with GSI Commerce Solutions where he was senior vice president of products technology. In this role, Scott was responsible for the web store, product engineering, architecture, fraud operations, mobility, payments and supply chain. He also served for six years at Accenture, and most recently led the eCommerce practice at ProV International, a global IT services firm, as executive vice president.

“We are very pleased to announce Scott Kessler’s promotion to our top information technology post,” said John Belk. “Since joining Belk, Scott has led our efforts to strengthen IT, to improve our system operations and to further define our omnichannel roadmap. He will bring great strategic leadership to our business as we continue to meet the changing needs of our customers.”
