BBBY CEO earns $8.5M in ’08

Union, N.J. Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Steven Temares saw his compensation increase 32%, according to a report by the Associated Press.

Temares' base salary rose 20% to almost $1.5 million in 2008 from $1.3 million the year before, according to a filing submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He also received perks valued about $21,000, or 6% less than in 2007.

Most of Temares' compensation came from restricted stock and options valued at $7 million, about 35% more than he received in 2007 in stock and options.
