1/23/2008

KEASBEY, N.J. Wakefern has signed a four-year deal with AT&T, under which the telecommunications company will provide the retailer with wide area network and managed services solutions.

AT&T said it will connect Wakefern's 250-plus domestic stores and corporate offices by using managed data services over a Multiprotocol Label Switching network with DSL backup. AT&T will also provide an extension of the company's AT&T Business Network Voice Services.

"The seamless, integrated AT&T solution addresses technology issues that result in a better in-store experience for our customers while helping us to control technology costs," said Charles Hawalka, manager for Wakefern's communications and information services division.
