Washington, D.C. Supervalu Inc. spent $170,000 in the third quarter to lobby for legislation surrounding food safety, retail crime and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.

The company also lobbied Congress on issues involving prescription medication and country-of-origin labeling of food during the July-September period, according to the report filed Oct. 20 with the House clerk's office.
