RICHMOND, Va. People who bought an HD-DVD player at Circuit City during the 2007 holiday season still have time to return it due to a new, extended return policy.

The chain has extended its 30-day return standard to 90 days for consumers who bought players before Toshiba terminated the HD-DVD format in February. The policy does not apply to HD-DVD movies.

Toshiba stopped shipping players to retail this month and the three studios previously supporting the format are no longer releasing new titles on HD-DVD. In a related move, Samsung has stopped production of its dual-format players that played both HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs.
