Gilbarco Veeder-Root

The newest version of Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s touchscreen point-of-sale system is gaining attention from a larger group of retail segments, especially convenience store operators. The company’s Passport Version 5 solution supports multiple credit-card and payment networks. The system also controls fuel dispensers made by both Dresser Wayne and Gilbarco. This new version of Passport can also interface with security cameras or cash acceptors integrated within retailers’ fueling islands. Greensboro, N.C.-based Gilbarco Veeder-Root promises that cashiers can be trained on its easy-to-use system within 15 minutes.www.gilbarco.com

RemoteReality

RemoteReality features two security systems that promise to deliver real-time, 360-degree tracking capabilities. Unlike traditional systems that require multiple pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras to home in on their target, the OmniAlert360 and Thermalvision360 each feature software that detects and tracks multiple objects in both visible and infrared thermal spectra. Both options feature high-resolution 360-degree mirrors, optics, sensors and intelligent processing into single-lens, high-frame-rate video appliance. Requiring fewer cameras, this configuration provides perimeter surveillance at a lower price point.www.remotereality.com
