A&P offers online shopping in NYC suburb

Montvale, N.J. A&P has initiated an online shopping service in Westchester County, a suburb of New York City. A&P shoppers there can log on to apsupermarket.com and click onto an online shopping icon to browse departments including grocery, dairy, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods and meat. Customers who place their orders in the morning will receive them by day's end, and A&P shops not only to homes, but businesses as well.

"We're pleased to introduce this new same-day online shopping service to customers in Westchester County," said Richard De Santa, A&P's senior director of public affairs.  "Our same-day service is a rarity among online shopping businesses. And when it comes to quality, customers receive products that are hand-picked, fresh from our stores, while our store-to-door 'chill-chain' maintains proper temperatures, ensuring that cold items will remain fresh. These customer-friendly services make online shopping just like being in the store."
