A&P gives Zavers the nod for mobile couponing
Kansas City, Kan. Digital incentive company Zavers said Tuesday that it has joined forces with A&P to offer consumers a mobile-coupon solution design to simplify and streamline the technology, as well as add savings and convenience.
Beginning this month at participating A&P grocery stores, Zavers mobile technology will launch a “text & save” mobile couponing platform.
Shoppers who opt-in to the service will receive an offer via text message, and reply with a simple code. The coupon is automatically deposited in the customer’s Zavers-powered account, which is linked to the retail store’s shopper loyalty program. The shopper picks up the product, and at check-out, swipes the loyalty savings card. The coupon amount is automatically deducted from the bill and the savings are printed on the receipt.
“Unlike other technologies that require cashiers to manually enter a bunch of numbers or scan multiple bar codes, Zavers is automatically linked to the retailer’s loyalty card so the process is seamless and scalable,” said Thad Langford, Zavers’ CEO.
A&P currently operates 433 stores in eight states and the District of Columbia under the trade names A&P, Waldbaum's, Pathmark, Best Cellars, The Food Emporium, Super Foodmart, SuperFresh and Food Basics.
