This American retailer is joining a select group

Tommy Hilfiger will be inducted into the World Retail Hall of Fame at the 10th Annual World Retail Congress, to be held at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai on April 12-14.



Hilfiger introduced his signature collection in 1985. Since then, the business has grown from a single menswear collection to a global lifestyle brand achieving over $6.7 billion in retail sales in 2014. There are over 1,400 Tommy Hilfiger stores in over 115 countries.



Also being inducted into the Hall of Fame is Jo Malone, founder of Jo Malone and Jo Loves. Malone launched her first brand, Jo Malone London, in 1994, which went on to cult status around the world. In 1999, she sold the business to Estée Lauder Companies. In 2011, Malone launched a new brand, Jo Loves, and in 2013 opened its first store.



The third inductee is Australian developer/retailer Solomon Lew, chairman of Premier Investments Ltd., who has over 50 years experience in the manufacture, wholesale and retailing of textiles, apparel and general merchandise and in property development



The Hall of Fame honor is designed to recognize lifetime achievements and contributions to retailing.



Past World Retail Hall of Fame honorees include Mickey Drexler, the Nordstrom family, Sir Paul Smith, Martha Stewart, and Ray Kelvin, founder and CEO of Ted Baker.
