American Eagle Outfitters August Sales Up 3%
Pittsburgh American Eagle Outfitters announced Wednesday that total sales for the four weeks ended Aug. 30, 2008 increased 3% to $320.0 million, compared to $311.3 million for the four weeks ended Sept. 1, 2007. Same-store sales decreased 5% for the month, compared to a 9% increase for the same period last year.
Total sales for the 30 weeks ended Aug. 30, 2008 increased 1% to $1.649 billion, compared to $1.627 billion for the 30 weeks ended Sept. 1, 2007. Same-stores sales decreased 7% for the year-to-date period compared to the same 30-week period last year.
