American Eagle October Same-Store Sales Fall

Pittsburgh, American Eagle Outfitters on Wednesday announced that total sales for the four weeks ended Nov. 3 were $210.2 million, an increase of 13% compared to $186.4 million for the four weeks ended October 28, 2006.

Due to the 53rd week in fiscal 2006, October 2007 comps are compared to the four-week period ended November 4, 2006. On this basis, same-store sales decreased 3%, compared to a 12% increase for the same period last year.

Total sales for the third quarter ended Nov. 3 increased 7% to $744.4 million, compared to $696.3 million for the quarter ended October 28, 2006. Same-store sales increased 2% for the quarter, compared to the same period last year.
