American Apparel will miss filing deadline

New York City American Apparel has informed the Securities and Exchange Commission that it will miss its filing deadline.

The struggling retailer said its new independent auditor needs to time to go through the numbers for its second quarter, which ended June 30, as well as those for its first quarter, which have yet to be filed.
