Amazon snuffs out Kindle rumors

SAN FRANCISCO Amazon.com. according to reports, has denied the rumors that it will launch a new version of its popular Kindle e-book reader this year.

Amazon spokesman Craig Berman dismissed the rumors, which began circulating after McAdams Wright Ragen analyst Time Bueneman said that the company was developing an updated version of Kindle, and said that a new version would debut sometime next year at the earliest.
