Amazon cio to retire by year's end

SEATTLE Amazon.com announced in an SEC filing Friday that Richard Dalzell will retire from the company as senior vp and cio by the end of 2007.

Dalzell has been serving in his current role since February. He previously held the position of cio and senior vp of worldwde architecture and platform software for Amazon.
