Aldi expands DC in Ohio
Springfield, Ohio Aldi U.S. is increasing the size of its distribution center in Springfield, Ohio. According to reports, the company is in the process of adding 122,700 square feet to its facility in the Prime-Ohio Industrial Park. The project is said to cost $5 million and is expected to be completed in about nine months.
The expansion will double the facility's refrigerated and frozen storage capacity in order to meet the consumer's growing demand for more refrigerated and frozen foods, according to reports.
Divisional vp Dan Gavin said that the distribution center currently supplies 57 stores in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky and that Aldi expects to open more stores in this market, according to reports.
