Aldi now has three co-presidents overseeing its rapidly expanding U.S. business following the promotion of Brent Laubaugh.
Laughbaugh, a 20 year veteran of the company, currently serves as VP of the Aldi division based in the Pittsburgh suburb of Saxonburgh, was named co-president of Aldi U.S. In that capacity, he joins David Behm and Chuck Youngstrom who will continue in their roles as co-presidents. All three report to Aldi CEO Jason Hart.
"Aldi has a different style when it comes to grocery shopping and that differentiation has helped make us one of the fastest growing retailers in the U.S," said Hart. "To support our significant expansion, it was important that we strengthen our leadership team to ensure our success. With the addition of Brent to our team, we have the right leaders in place to continue growing the Aldi business."
Aldi currently operates about 1,500 U.S. stores, but it entered the California market this month and has indicated it expects to operate roughly 2,000 stores nationwide by 2018.
